In a major recognition of academic achievement, Sergeant Bluff-Luton Senior High School has officially been named one of the nation’s top educational institutions by U.S. News & World Report.

In the latest annual rankings, SBL Senior High School earned the #33 spot out of over 320 ranked public high schools across Iowa, placing the Warriors squarely in the top 10% of high schools in Iowa.

This prestigious honor evaluates high schools on key indicators of student success, including performance on state assessments, graduation rates, college readiness, and curriculum breadth.

A District-Wide Victory

While national rankings focus on the high school level, district leaders emphasize that an achievement of this magnitude is a direct reflection of the entire SBL educational system.

"High school excellence is never an isolated effort, it is the culmination of every learning experience along the way," said Superintendent Janzen. "The groundwork laid by our primary and elementary educators, combined with the guidance and growth fostered in our middle school, creates the foundation for our high school students to excel. This national milestone is a collective victory that belongs to every teacher, support staff member, administrator, and family across all our buildings."
