Facility Planning

Understanding that a school district is a direct reflection of the community it serves, the school board and leadership team of Sergeant Bluff-Luton Community Schools is committed to a facility planning strategy that reflects the priorities of the taxpayers and meets the needs of our students and communities.

We are grateful to our community members for continuing to be a part of this process and providing input for the District to consider as we explore the options for moving forward with our facility planning.

CommCon Spring 24

On Wednesday, April 17, Superintendent Janzen delivered an important presentation regarding a long-term, 3-phased approach for facility planning at SBL.

With a community-wide survey now available through May 20, watching the video below may be helpful prior to taking the survey.

During the presentation, Superintendent Janzen shared the estimated monthly tax impact of a $2.85 tax levy increase based on various residential and agricultural land values. To view the full table to include all property types (residential, agricultural and commercial) CLICK HERE.

Tax impact table provided by Piper Sandler, the District's financial advisor, has been verified by the Woodbury County Supervisor.

We've Been Listening

Over the past year and a half, the district has work hard to connect with the community through a variety of ways:

THANK YOU to all who took part in our listening sessions - where we heard from YOU!
