The Community Engagement Team will present their findings to the school board on August 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.

The Community Engagement Team is made up of approximately 25 members.  The team was created out of the community members who responded to the survey last spring (which all residents received).  They have met 8 times, with a representative from SitelogIQ, beginning last May.  They toured every building.  In each building, they toured with the building principal to learn about the facility from an educational perspective and with the head of maintenance to learn about the facility from a structural perspective.

In July they met with a representative from Piper Sandler, an investment company that works with school districts, to learn about school funding and about property taxes in relation to district facilities.  The committee learned about the various school funds and how they can be used.  They also learned options that exist on how facilities can be funded, specific to SBL.

On August 30, the committee will present their recommendations to the school board.  Please plan to attend this meeting to learn about what community representatives think the district should do regarding district facilities.
