4th graders were busy this morning. Mrs. McCauley's class was working on cursive (now required by Iowa law), Mrs. Schultz's class was working on building structures that could withstand an earthquake, and Mrs. Black's class was working on fractions.

The elementary students wrote letters to National Guardsmen stationed in Syria for Veterans Day. Here is the response they received:

"We would love to say thank you for the letters! A lot of the soldiers smiled and got laughs from reading. We appreciate the letters and kind words everyone said. Once again thank you SBL for the letters!! We all can’t wait to be back in the states!"

Hawks Coffee is hosting a Meet the Candidates event Wednesday, Oct. 22 from 5-6:30. Come and meet school board and city candidates. Supt. Janzen will be available for any questions related to the bond issue.

It's Homecoming Friday! There are a lot of activities today. The march is at 1:20 with the pep rally and coronation to follow. Beginning at 5pm, there are a number of activities going on near the football field. There are games for kids by the youth wrestling program, a taco feed by the music boosters, Warrior Enterprises will be selling donuts donated by Quik Star, Jack's Kettle Corn is being sold so raise funds for Food 4 Thought, and more! Oh, and there's a football game too! Go Warriors!
