The November 2024 bond election results demonstrated something remarkable about our community. With 55.5% support, you showed us that through our commitment to listening and meaningful engagement, our district is indeed moving in the right direction. Our ongoing community surveys continue to reinforce what you've been telling us: the primary building remains your top priority. Your feedback has been clear and consistent, and we have listened. This focused approach allows us to concentrate our resources where you've indicated they're needed most.

The Next Phase of Our Long-Term Plan

As you know, our comprehensive facility plan was developed with extensive community input and engagement. The first phase of this plan, the East Campus development, is nearing completion this summer. This milestone represents not just the successful execution of our shared vision, but also our readiness to move forward with the next critical component.

November 2025 Bond Election

Based on your continued feedback and our successful progress, we are preparing for a focused bond election in November 2025. The sole component of this election will be funding for a new primary building that will be connected to our existing elementary building. This targeted approach reflects our commitment to addressing your highest priority while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

This new primary building will serve as the foundation for early childhood education in our district, providing our youngest learners with the modern, safe, and engaging environment they deserve. The connection to our elementary building will create efficiencies in both operations and educational programming.

Moving Forward Together

In the coming months, we will again share detailed information about the proposed primary building, including architectural plans and cost projections. You will have several opportunities to sign the petition to place this issue on the November ballot. Our team will be present at community events, and we will schedule dedicated sessions for those who wish to participate in this important democratic process.

Through the dedicated work of our Community Engagement Team, we have built a vision for our schools that reflects your priorities and values. As we prepare for this next phase, we remain committed to the principles that have guided us: listening to our community, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and keeping student success at the center of everything we do. We look forward to continuing this important conversation with you in the weeks and months ahead. Together, we will build the facilities our students need to thrive.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Sincerely,

Chad Janzen, Superintendent
Sergeant Bluff-Luton CSD
