People have asked if the community presentation will be streamed or recorded. It will not be streamed, but it will be recorded. SiteLogIQ will take the recording and overlay the Power Point presentation so you can watch the slides and listen to the recording. The tours the community team went on in the school buildings will also be posted online. This all takes time so please be patient. We are trying to be as transparent as we can. Hope to see a good crowd Wednesday!

There are a lot of creative bulletin boards up at the elementary. I remember reading The Boxcar Children books (bottom right).

If you attended the football game on Friday, you got to see a new school program. The marching band now includes flags!

On August 30, the Community Engagement Team will present to the school board the community’s opinion on what they recommend the district should do regarding facilities. I’ve heard the question, “We’ve heard this before, why should I attend?” The answer is you have not heard this before. This is something different. This presentation is NOT a presentation by the board or administration to the community, but rather a presentation by the community to the board. I’ve been told by others that this process looks and feels different than what’s been done before. Please plan to attend on August 30 in the high school auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

More pictures from day one!

Great first day!

Due to the extension of the "Excessive Heat Warning" through Thursday night, with the best interest of our football players' safety, we will be switching the order of the Thursday routine. The team meal and weekly goal setting will begin at 5:45, followed by practice/walk-through at 7:00.
PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR YOUNG MEN TO HYDRATE to prepare for Friday's game beginning now, if they haven't already. Every player should be drinking at least a gallon of water each night between practice ending and the time they go to bed. All athletes should be drinking at least 20 ounces of water as soon as they wake up in the morning, and every player should be avoiding energy drinks and other caffeinated beverages within 24 hours of competition to prevent cramping.

Monday morning we celebrated employees who worked for the district for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years. We want to give special recognition to Craig Golden for 35 years of service to the students of Sergeant Bluff. Thank you Craig!

With school starting tomorrow, school busses will be out on the roads. Please help keep kids safe by obeying traffic laws regarding school busses.

Let's dream together!

Welcome back to school!

Varsity and JV - first half
JV - 3rd quarter
9th grade - 4th quarter

As the new school approaches, we want to thank our incredible maintenance and grounds crews for getting the facilities read for students. Many projects were completed over the summer. If you know or see them, please give them a big thanks!

Wednesday early outs will be 2:20 pm instead of 2:40 pm this year.
Last spring the school board approved a slightly earlier release time on Wednesdays to ensure buildings have an hour for training. Previously some buildings had 40 minutes due to after school duties.

I caught MS cross country out for a run this morning
